Canthal tilt, one angle among many.
Canthal tilt is the angle of the line between the inner and outer corners of the eye. Here is the definition, how it is measured from a front photo, and — firmly — what it does not mean. Related: symmetry, thirds and fifths.
Definition
The angle of the line from the inner eye corner to the outer eye corner, relative to horizontal. A positive tilt means the outer corner sits higher than the inner corner. The reading reports the angle itself — nothing more.
How measured
Both eye corners are landmarked on a straight-on front photo with eyes open and gazing at the lens, head level. The angle is computed per eye and shown with a confidence label on the overlay demo — small head turns skew it, so off-angle photos are rejected.
What it does NOT mean
Canthal tilt is not a beauty verdict. It is one geometric angle among many, and no single angle determines anything about a face on its own — Aureon issues no attractiveness scores, ever.
When unavailable
Hair over the eyes, glasses glare, heavy shadow on the eye region, squinting, or a turned or tilted head each void the reading. It is marked unavailable for that photo rather than estimated — retake with the photo-quality guide.
