Facial symmetry, read without alarm.

Facial symmetry is measured by comparing the left-right differences of paired landmarks on a straight-on front photo. Small left-right differences in the eyes, brows, and jaw are typical normal variation rather than a beauty verdict. Aureon describes these geometric differences in plain numbers rather than as an attractiveness rating.

Normal asymmetry first

Small left-right differences in the eyes, brows, and jaw are typical and expected — nobody is perfectly mirrored. A symmetry reading describes the size of those differences in plain numbers, alongside related readings like thirds and fifths.

What front photos support

A straight-on front photo — head level, facing the lens directly, neutral expression, even light — supports left-right comparison of paired landmarks. Each comparison carries a confidence label, visible on the overlay demo.

What it does NOT mean

A measured difference is not a diagnosis and not a beauty verdict. Symmetry readings say nothing about health, and Aureon does not rate attractiveness — the number describes geometry, nothing more.

When unavailable

Any head turn or tilt, uneven lighting across the face, a non-neutral expression, or occluded landmarks voids the reading. It is marked unavailable for that photo rather than estimated — retake using the photo-quality guide.

SYMMETRY FAQ

Questions about symmetry.

Is it normal for a face to be asymmetric?

Yes. Every face is slightly asymmetric — small left-right differences in eyes, brows, and jaw are typical and expected. A symmetry reading describes the size of those differences; it never diagnoses anything.

What photo does a symmetry reading need?

A straight-on front photo: head level, facing the lens directly, neutral expression, even light. Any turn, tilt, uneven lighting or expression shifts the apparent left-right balance and voids the reading.

When is a symmetry reading unavailable?

When the head is turned or tilted, lighting falls unevenly across the face, expression is not neutral, or landmarks are occluded. The reading is marked unavailable for that photo rather than estimated.

Good photos in, honest readings out.
